Community wellbeing studies
In line with its commitment to make meaningful contributions to the communities in which it operates, Santos engaged independent consultancy group The Hornery Institute to study wellbeing in the Gladstone and Maranoa regions.
The result was a deeper understanding of the communities and their needs, which will help Santos direct its resources to areas of priority.

Environmental Impact Statement – community engagement
Santos is committed to engaging the community and is actively pursuing community and stakeholder input and feedback separate from the formal Environmental Impact Statement process for the GLNG project.
The purpose of Santos' consultation with the community is to:
- provide ongoing information about the proposed project
- gain community views on the potential impacts of the proposal
- ensure a positive contribution by the community towards achieving a sustainable project.
Community engagement during the phases of the Environmental Impact Statement is detailed below.
