Santos is working collaboratively with state and federal governments, local leaders and the community in the proposed project areas to identify and address issues which might impact local residents and the project.
In 2009, Santos held 25 information sessions across 11 locations and over 140 project briefings with key stakeholders. More than 250 enquiries were followed up from community contact via the telephone, fax, post and email services.
One-on-one landholder briefing.
The GLNG Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was made available for public comment and review between 20 June 2009 and 17 August 2009. In response, 48 written submissions were received.
The Queensland Coordinator-General requested that Santos prepare a supplementary report to the EIS to address the matters raised in submissions, and, based on the submissions, to include any corrections or clarifications to the EIS and provide further information and results from additional studies.
